How easy do you find selecting an outfit in the morning from the array of clothes in your wardrobe? Why is it sometimes challenging even when you’ve got a wardrobe full of clothes?
Well, firstly some of them might not currently fit you and others may have been purchased on a whim. It’s easy to spot something you like but it can be hard to resist even if you have that niggling feeling that it’s not quite right for you. We’ll often try to convince ourselves it’ll work but, in our heart, know it’s a mistake. And what about sale items? We all love a bargain but it’s only really a bargain if you needed it in the first place.
So, this is were a Personal Stylist can help – I can save you time, stress and hassle, helping you to develop a capsule wardrobe that fits with your lifestyle needs, your personality and budget.
My background is in fashion retail, so I know all the tricks retailers use to get you to part with your money. I now work on the ‘other side of the fence’ so to speak and make you stop, think and assess; so that you’re not making those impulse buys. I help you end up with a wardrobe, albeit probably smaller than it was, but full of coordinated outfits, all of which you can wear. It is often said that most of us wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. Do you agree? Well, I’ll definitely change that around for you!
For a lot of people, the idea of a Personal Shopper can be a bit scary, so I thought it might be helpful to hear what others have to say. We’ve all been there at different times in our lives – had wobbles and lost some confidence – my job is to help you get back on track and feel good about yourself!
Here’s what a couple of mums have said about their experience with me:
Following the birth of my second (and last) child I realised that I needed a major wardrobe overhaul, to not only weed out the good stuff, but to ensure that my wardrobe was able to suit my new life as a working Mummy. I nervously contacted Lesley for the first time 6 months ago & was met with an understanding ear and who listened to my ‘story’ & gently guided me to a point where I now feel much more in control of my wardrobe.
As a minimum, the Colour Analysis is an absolute must & has been invaluable in my understanding of what suits me. Lesley also helped me appreciate my shape & now I now feel relieved that I can stop trying to ‘make’ clothes suit me & focus on the shapes & cuts that compliment my body.
I also used Lesley’s personal shopping service & wasn’t disappointed; she was focused, structured & taught me that I can be productive with limited time – which is an absolute must with young children.
6 months later I am continuing to use my ‘Style File’ & Colour chart, & feel excited about building my wardrobe using what I’ve learn.
After months of me nagging, I finally hosted a ‘Style Evening’ for my friends & they all had great fun in having their Colour Analysis done & got some great tips from Lesley in a relatively short space of time – Once again this is another service that I highly recommend.
Please do not hesitate to contact Lesley, you will not be disappointed & I can assure you that it will save all those costly mistakes that we are all guilty of making!!”
“As a mum of three young children while running a business and more besides, I lost all focus on myself. I reached a point of disliking all my clothes and hating shopping. I definitely looked “mumsy”. I particularly dreaded the many social functions I was attending often feeling very uncomfortable with how I looked. I didn’t think I could feel stylish again. Lesley helped me to rediscover my own sense of style with a surprising box of tricks. My friends, family and hubby have all noticed the change and I am enjoying feeling more than comfortable and stylish again! Lesley is so genuinely passionate about what she does. She is also a kind, intuitive and an appropriately assertive soul. Meeting and working with her is such a pleasure”.
But I don’t just work with women – guys need support too:
“Lesley’s approach was perfect, a whirlwind of activity, experimenting, trying things, changing things. She seems to have a sixth sense at spotting perfect items and navigating stores that makes for an incredibly efficient trip. Balancing cost with style and use – it also wasn’t as hard on the wallet as I’d imagined.
Ultimately as well as giving my wardrobe a much needed injection of stylish variety, the few hours with Lesley left me coming away with a new way of thinking about what I wear – how to think about it, what’s important and what’s not, giving me confidence in my own thoughts. For me this was the biggest win. Massive thanks to Lesley for really fun afternoon… but with results that certainly my wife and girls approved of!
For guys like me, a little set in your way about what you wear, I really can’t recommend her strongly enough!”
